Public Is Invited to Sensory Friendly Event on July 27

CHARLOTTE, N.C.; July 23, 2024 – ABS Kids, a leading provider of services to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), has opened three new therapy centers in North Carolina to expand autism care services to families in the state. The new locations are in Charlotte (2300 Sardis Rd.), Mint Hill (10545 Blair Rd.) and Kernersville (257 Gretas Way, St. 100).

These three new locations give families access to 19 centers in North Carolina, with seven opening since last November. ABS Kids now has 38 total centers nationwide in California, North Carolina, Tennessee and Utah.

According to the most recent data provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on ASD rates in North Carolina, 2.5% of 8-year-olds in the study were diagnosed with ASD, higher than the national average cited by the N.C. Department of Commerce (1.85%). This is why it is imperative that ABS Kids continues to fulfill its vision of providing high-quality ABA therapy to children and families across the state.

“North Carolina has been a priority for ABS Kids, which is why so much of our recent expansion and upcoming openings are in this state. We understand what it means to families to have access to these services and care,” said ABS Kids Regional Vice President Allyssa Leary. “It’s also why we try to give families as many options as possible to access ABA therapy. That means our providers work in our centers, in families’ homes and in schools, giving them as many opportunities as possible to receive the kind of care that can change their lives.”

In celebration of their new center openings, ABS Kids invites the public to a family and sensory friendly event on July 27 in Mint Hill:
